Hi all, just had confirmation back from Dan Herries (DOC) regarding the capture site for our sponsored stag. He has agreed with a request to locate our collared stag in the Te Puke tops area. A mature stag for us to track that is situated in the middle of the current control area will hopefully provide us with the most useful information on the impact that the aerial control of hinds has on the local stag population. Hopefully it will also give us an insight into the day to day and seasonal movement of Sika stags in the back country. I will keep you posted on developments.
